THE CHEF
Since 2002, owner and Executive Chef, Martin Castillo has created Limon's inspiring and culture-blending dishes in coordination with his mother, Luz, and two brothers, Antonio and Eduardo. Under Martin's direction Limón has been featured in numerous magazines, on US and international television, and voted one of the top 100 restaurants in San Francisco.
Honors
With the support of his family, Martin Castillo and Limon have enjoyed nationwide, even worldwide, notoriety in recent years. Limón and Martin were featured on Tokyo TV, and South American Gourmet TV featured Limon in a program that was aired in Peru, Ecuador and Argentina, and viewed by many friends and members of the extended Castillo family.
Martin was named as one of San Francisco's top five rising chefs in 2003, and Limon was named one of the top 100 restaurants in San Francisco from 2002-2007 by Michael Bauer of the San Francisco Chronicle. The Guardian newspaper named Limon the best new restaurant of 2003.
Martin was featured as a chef for Macy's Union Square where he presented a 1 hour cooking show.
